Men's Clothing Sales Outpace Ladies' - Investors.com

Department stores, off-price retailers, warehouse clubs and mass merchants all saw a 6% rise in dollar sales of men's clothing in 2013. Likely beneficiaries of the uptick in men's clothing sales were department-store operators such as Macy's ( M ) and Nordstrom ( JWN ), and discounters such as Target ( TGT ), Wal-Mart Stores ( WMT ) and Costco Wholesale ( COST ). Website purchases, which represented 14% of men's apparel sales, saw some of the highest growth for the year, increasing 19% over 2012. Meanwhile, the average price of an in-store purchase grew 3% for men's apparel, while online prices declined 7%.
